From the Desk of Father Agustin

Thursday, May 18, 2023

Today we celebrate the feast of Pentecost and with this feast we conclude the Easter Season. Pentecost originates from the Jewish feast Shavout which commemorates that 50 days after the Passover celebration God gave the law to Moses and the Israelites on Mt. Sinai.

Meditación del Padre Gustavo

Thursday, May 16, 2024

    Pentecost:

Today as we celebrate Pentecost the Holy Spirit wants to make us advocates of God’s presence to bring new life to others, especially those who do not know the love of God in their lives.

When we give to those in need, God indeed pours his love, peace and joy into our hearts, into our lives and into the hearts of those we help.

Drop whatever your heart leads you to give and whatever your budget permits (cash or check) into our SVDP Poor Boxes or “zelle” to our email (Ozanamsvdp1@gmail.com) for direct deposit.

    Vote No on 4

    Wednesday, April 3, 2024

“Florida Voters be warned: Amendment 4 would enshrine abortion through all trimesters in our state’s constitution and eliminate all laws that even modestly affect abortion including parental consent laws, informed consent laws, and other safety regulations that protect women seeking an abortion. It goes too far for even most people who consider themselves to be pro-choice, creating loopholes that will allow for abortions in the second and third trimesters,” said Sara Johnson, Florida Voters Against Extremism’s Statewide Grassroots Director.

Amendment 4 doesn’t tell voters that it fails to define key terms like “viability” or “patient’s health” – leaving it up to a so-called “healthcare provider” to make all of these critical determinations. That’s how Amendment 4 would allow late-term abortions, when a baby is capable of feeling pain, with no protections for the baby.

Florida voters looking for more information or ways they can help defeat Amendment 4 should visit www.TooExtreme4FL.com.

    Eucharistic Revival +

    Friday, March 15, 2024

Jesus said, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life.”

This teaching was so shocking that many of his followers left at that moment! Jesus did not call them back to clarify, because he knew they understood correctly. He was actually telling them to eat his flesh and drink his blood.

As Catholics, we believe Jesus’ words literally, not symbolically. The substance of the bread and wine transform into the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ at every Mass. We call this miracle the Eucharist.

It's an exciting time to be Catholic! The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to the Eucharist: The greatest gift God has ever given to humanity and the very source of our strength. Encounter the reality of the Real Presence, and fall in love with your faith like never before.
